When people encounter contemporary art, they often try to relate it to the narrative tradition in traditional art. "What's the story here?" they ask. This may be why they find looking at museum labels or photographs more comfortable. They supply the narrative.

However, contemporary art works have their own narrative. They require that you enter into the artist's mental space (much like the mental space an author provides) in order to discern what that narrative is. I like the way the neon lights up the square's interior as well as provides ambient light around the edges.
