Adam and Eve (completed 2008) $1200 |
Each box is 10” W x 10” L x 3” D (25.6 cm x 25.6 cm x 7.68 cm) Neon circle: 19” dia (48.64 cm) Birch plywood, orange mirror acrylic, white neon, yellow polypropylene rope |
I wanted to do a piece that used this wonderful orange mirror acrylic and didn’t take up too much space. The squares symbolize the physical world into which the Lord God placed Adam and Eve. The yellow rope is cut into 14 pieces of varying length (seven per box). Seven is a sacred number representing the union of divinity (3) and earth (4). The circle of white light references God’s all-encompassing perfection and purity which we all can reflect.
